Up early and back on the bus. Our bus from yesterday broke down so now we have this new bus that is short six seats. Some people had to stand in the aisle. Our first stop ws the Incan ruins. We got a tour around and information concerning the history of the Incas and the CaƱaris. The initially lived together, but slowly but surely, the Incas manipulated the situation and gained control. They did this through marriage and other malicious tactics. The ruins found were really impressive. There was a full staircase that was only discovered in 1993. Where the ruins were situated in the mountains was luscious and green. Hard to describe in words. We went for lunch at Cuna del Sol and the food was rather bland. The weather in the Andes was perfect. Sunny and warm with a nice cool breeze. Slept most of the long drive back and I could feel the intense heat as soon as we got back into the city. I had my arm out the bus window the whole ride and developed a severely red sunburn. I wanted color but not on just one section of my arm. I think that more ignorant comments were made on the trip back than at any other time. I started to really dislike the majority of people on this trip. They seemed to have no respect for the culture and customs of the Ecuadorian people. I'm sorry to say that they are complaining, rude, inconsiderate, ethnocentric assholes. Cleaned up at the hotel and walked a few blocks away for our steak dinner. I gorged myslef on meat and baked potato, and headed back to the hotel. This was our last night and we wanted to make it count, so we went to club Fizz for the second time. Had a great time dancing and drinking away. We had to be downstairs on the bus at 4:30, amd we had a long traveling time ahead of us, so pretty much no one slept. Some of us could handle that, and some of us definitely couldn't. People were so blatently beligerant on the bus. Out of control and needed discipline. We all went to the same place, some of us are just more in control.
