Friday 21st
Again the drive back is questionable. I guess we were meant to stop and eat lunch along some river or stop at some lake at 12,000ft but neither of those things happened. Lunch was at a nice place and the food was good, so I was still happy with that. The drive back along the road was interesting. Definitly saw a couple of spots where mudslides had taken the road out. There were good parts to take nice photos of the mountains but we didn’t stop anywhere good. I guess it still would have been hard to considering the intense fog we ran into. I think the driver could only see about 25ft in front. Cuenca was nice, I wish we could have stayed an extra day to really explore around. It was like 12hours of driving for like 12 hours we were there. At night on our last day everyone met up in someone’s room on the 10th floor to hang out and prepare for going out. It had rained and some had mentioned staying in and hanging out at the hotel but a lot wanted to go out, and so we did. We started walking to the hill which on top has a light house. There is about 450 steps to the tope which are numbered and the almost the whole way up is lined with bars. Well supposedly the bars were to open at midnight but we found none open and it started to rain. Since the one group of four got robbed in a taxi we all decide to walk back in the rain. We joked about how it’s so humid and rainy that we are all used to being wet, so we didn’t mind the rain so much. I probably didn’t get to bed till two, good thing I back all my stuff before going out. It was a good feeling know we were going home the next day. I really enjoyed the trip, but I was ready to head back home, with my own bed and a nice hot shower.
