This blog will help me document my adventures while I study abroad in the spring semester of 2010. Hopefully the blog will allow anyone who reads to live my adventures vicariously through it! Of course studies come first and foremost, but I'm sure I'll have lots of fun and interesting stories to tell everyone back home. So check back here frequently, as I intend to update it as often as I can!

Alas! I am a terrible blogger :( I've had so much time on my hands but I haven't stopped to write about what's happened since spring break! Please forgive me. So I went to Rome, I went to Barcelona, I got stuck in Barcelona because of that goofy volcano, finally returned to Brussels with a plate full of homework, projects and exams to study for, took my exams, and left the Piettes! It's been even longer than I thought since I wrote in this blog... Where to begin?

I've been thinking about just how I wanted to write about my trip to Rome. I'll start out by saying it was undoubtedly the BEST trip I've been on. Rome is my favorite city so far hands down. I fell in love with everything about the city while I was there. The ruins, the parks, the incredible architecture, sculptures and scenery in and out of museums, the history, and the FOOOOOD. I ate gelato everyday, had awesome pizza more than a few times, and the most delicious sandwiches for lunch, and drank yummy cheap wine at night. I spent almost a whole day in Villa Borghese, this beautiful, enormous park. The weather was beautiful almost every day I was there. I even left the city with Toni and the Loyola crew to visit Ostia-Antica to see the ruins of the old harbor city for Ancient Rome and to spend some time at the beach! I did so much it's hard to remember it all, but my pictures will help explain.

Toni and I spent lots of time together and it was pretty incredible. We got dinner at this really nice place in the Trastevere area called Rugantino, we took naps in Villa Borghese, walked along the Italian coast together... I was waiting for someone to pinch me the whole time. While I was there I lived with my friend Sean in his dorm with all his friends. I was really worried before I went that I was going to be a burden and that his dorm mates wouldn't like me being there. As it turned out, the people that he lived with were some of the nicest college students I've ever met in my life. They welcomed me as soon as I got there and immediately made me feel at home. Not only were they all super friendly, but almost every single one of them was an awesome cook. These kids made their own bread, and it was fucking GOOD.

Eventually my friends showed up in Rome and I got to spend some time with my boys in the city before we were off to Barcelona... Which is a completely different story. Pictures and stories will be posted soon!
