Another rainy day!  Glad I decided to bust out the jeans today!  It hasn’t rained on the island since Christmas, so naturally it does when we come.  Things just always seem to work out that way.  At least the weather will be nicer in Barcelona- eighty-degree weather and beaches here I come!

Anyways, it seems like we spent a lot of the day on a ferry/ waiting around for the ferry.  When we finally arrived on the island, I discovered it was kind of a dreary place.  The fog made it kind of eerie, as did the lack of people and houses.  However, it made it rather romantic is an odd sort of way as well.  There was a lovely little climb to the fort, which was the main point of the visit to the island.  It was really worth the climb, even with the steady mist of rain coming down on me.  It was so beautiful.  I loved seeing the waves splash up against the rocks below.  Hearing the roar of the angry, icy water was calming in a way.  I found the fort to be a very peaceful place.  It was also thrilling at the same time.   I got such a thrill from being so close to the edge.  (However, I didn’t stand close enough to actually be in danger- I’m not that much of a risk taker!)

Then we had a lot of free time left to roam the island.  We did some shopping and looked around.  I wish it had been a nicer day, I would have loved to bike around the island.  Instead we went in the pub and enjoyed watching some more of the British cup!
