Cardiff,
Wales

Bank holiday weekend was quite excellent! I went with a group of girls to Cardiff, Wales where we proceeded to have the most marvelous time!
Travel took quite a while via train, but it wasn't too bad. We arrived at a decent time because we left at 5:30 in the morning! We managed to find our way to the hotel in Cardiff Bay, thanks to Sarah, our excellent navigator! Before we got to the hotel though, we stopped in the first restaurant we saw and had some excellent classy Italian food. Then we admired our apartment and rested up before wandering around and finding some groceries to cook ourselves some supper. We enjoyed a night in before our big Sunday in Wales.
Sunday we did SO much walking. The first thing we did was go to the Cardiff Castle, which was so great to see. Unlike the other castle that we saw in Wales, this one had actual rooms and such and a great big wall going around the whole thing. We learned quite a bit about the history while we were there and saw how it has changed over time. After that we got some lunch before heading over to Millennium Stadium. We got a tour of the entire stadium. I loved the President's box and I wish that I could see a game in this arena! Then we proceeded to walk miles to see a cathedral. It was quite grand and very beautiful. Then we trekked all the way back to Cardiff bay to get some food from the fair that was going on that weekend. We had delicious German BBQ and delectable crepes. We then rested up before going out later that evening. We had fun at some of the local places before hitting up St. Mary's street in the city center. We danced the night away before heading back to catch some zzz's.
Monday was the big shopping day. We spent the morning tidying up the apartment and getting ready to leave. We went the the mall and I also saw some of the "arcades." Arcades, which I had thought of as game machine places, are actually the streets of shops and home to shopping centers. We then met up to catch our train back to Liverpool, and finally arrived back in Ormskirk around ten. Once back I was exhausted and crashed right away. (But not before I managed to skype my sister Emily and show her and my parents this cute hand-crafted bag that I had got my other sister, Abby) I really loved Wales and it is definitely somewhere I would want to go again.
