Today was a lot of driving.  We made a lot of stops along the way though to break it up so we were sitting on a bus for hours at a time.  My favorite stop that we made was to see the apparition.  I have to admit, I wasn’t really excited to get off the bus, and I really just wanted to get to Galway.  However, it was definitely worth the visit.  My relationship with God is very important to me- more than that, that relationship is the most important one in my life.  It’s amazing to see how he works and that he would send a vision to so many people.  That stop was a great reminder of what really is important in life and reminded me to stop and praise him during this trip.  When I see the beauty of the land and when I get a quiet moment by myself to admire it, I’m reminded of just how great my God is and how beautiful his handiwork is.  I’m so happy that I have been able to go on this trip to see it all.  He is truly an amazing and wonderful God.

As beautiful as the scenery is, I still find myself falling asleep and I awoke when we were arriving in Galway.  I did manage to stay awake to hear the story about the potato famine though.  I’ve always known about the potato famine, but I’ve never really heard the details or heard it from this prospective.  I can’t imagine living during that time.  I can imagine dying of sickness, from some horrible accident, or a terrible crime, but I can’t imagine starving to death.  I hate being slightly hungry for even a moment while I wait for my food.  To die because you don’t have enough food is unbelievable and tragic.  If that isn’t sad enough, then Tom told us about he boy who could have been buried alive.  Ireland, like Scotland, is full of so much sad history.

On a brighter note, that evening we got to go see Trad on the Prom.  There really aren’t words to describe this amazing show.  I really seeing their rich Irish culture displayed through music and dance.  The fiddle played by Mairin Fahy was beyond description and the dancing was so incredible.  I’m running out of adjectives to describe just how great it was.  I feel like I really got to experience the culture through this.
