So this journal blog thing is kind of confusing, first I have to make an entry, and then I make the actual journal I believe??? So we're going to try this :) So this will be where I'm storing all the journals for what takes place from now until August 9

Yesterday after work I took the world's longest nap ever (also found a fan in the apartment to use....SUCCESS) and then met up with Xixi to watch the World Cup "parade".  Basically the parade, consisted of the Spain football players riding on top of a double decker bus through town and everyone shouting at them how great they are...haha.  The parade took place in the Plaza de Callao, hich was perfect for me since that's right across the street...it was ridiculously crowded and I couldn't find Xixi and then Natsuho, who didn't even know I was there, randomly found me...guess that works too!  Natsuho and a few other people left to go get food, and Xixi and I never found them back in the craziness, so it ended up being the two of us watching the parade, then running down to La Plaza de Cibeles where we met the football players again, and then we found our way to an afterparty concert in Principe Pio...crazy crowded again.  People are still soooo insanely excited about their World Cup victory, not that I blame them....when we were in the metro, everyone was banging on the ceiling and sides of the cars and jumping up and down, I seriously can't believe they didn't derail the train...lol.  I've never seen such a large group of people be so extremely proud for their country and so enthusiastic, I'm pretty sure they'll still be celebrating months from now!

It also pretty cool to spend some one on one time with Xixi, because we usually always hang out in groups...come to find out we are actually extremely similar other than the fact that she was born and raised in China and I was raised in the US...we did a lot of talking about comparing our cultures, and despite all the differences, we found out we still have very similar value and personalities...too bad China and America are quite far apart!  I also couldn't stop myself from dying of laughter to watch this small Chinese girl pack away food like none other and not have it affect her whatsoever...this weekend when we were at San Fermin, she ate a paella rice dish made for 2 people all on her own, and still managed to pack away some bread too...then yesterday she ordered pizza and ice cream when we went out to eat, and then decided she was still hungry and wanted to buy more ice cream...lol.

Today after work, I'm headed to the pool with Natsuho and Xixi!  Yay for escaping the heat!
