Stories from my Madrid Adventures!

So this journal blog thing is kind of confusing, first I have to make an entry, and then I make the actual journal I believe??? So we're going to try this :) So this will be where I'm storing all the journals for what takes place from now until August 9

So I am quite excited about leaving with some work people and a whole bunch of other travelers for Ibiza today!  Actually I guess we're technically leaving tomorrow, but its at 2:15 am, so basically the same difference...lol.  I hope its as cool of a place as everyone says it is!  For some reason I'm a little nervous, probably just because this is my first time "traveling" while being over here and I've gotten pretty settled over the last few weeks...I guess its just weird traveling with a bunch of new people now that I've already gotten a friend group over here, and I don't really know how the outcome of the trip will be, but its only for 4 days and everyone says that the trip is fantastic, so I'm keeping in good hopes about it...I'm not sure how the blogging will be over there seeing as I'm not taking a computer with me, so depending on whether or not I find free/cheap internet access over there (which is doubtful unfortunately) the next entry may not be until Sunday night at 3am!  Hopefully I'll have some good stories to tell by then!

Anywho, today I worked the morning shift, which I sooo much more prefer to the night shift, and it went much smoother than the past couple days.  I'm still realizing my Spanish is really going to have to get whipped into shape, because sometimes its hard to understand people on the phone, but I know it'll come with time....it really adds to the pressure when you realize that a person's ability to get from point A to point B is relying on your ability to successfully communicate their needs to all the correct third parties...so far no one has been left homeless on a trip or stranded at a bus stop, so I guess I'm okay yet..haha.  I do like that the managers give us just the right amount of work responsibility for being interns, and I would say I'm definitely very happy with the position.  Although we do make reservations and plans for people, our managers Frank and Estefan are always around and really good about picking up their phones when we're not, and they're also very good about being attentive to any concerns we have.  Another great bonus, they're EXTREMELY supportive of our travel time, and super relaxed...WIN!

I went shopping again today...hahaha...I didnt' go too crazy though seeing as this weekend may be a little pricey, plus I still can't stand the overcrowded stores and having to squish your way through everywhere.  I also met two Americans, a mother and her daughter, and she said in front of me right out loud (slightly angrily) to her daughter "that lady just took my shoes"...then I responded in English, and she was quite shocked to find out that I was American and could interpret everything she said...it was pretty entertaining not gonna lie.  Needless to say, I gave her the shoes, and she was quite overly nice and smiley with me for the rest of the time she saw me at the store....hahaha gotta it when you think someone can't understood you and you find out otherwise.

Well its probably about time I start packing a few things away for this trip!  Thank goodness I got in an hour nap so I won't be quite as tired tomorrow....lol
