So this journal blog thing is kind of confusing, first I have to make an entry, and then I make the actual journal I believe??? So we're going to try this :) So this will be where I'm storing all the journals for what takes place from now until August 9

Highlights

  • Saw a cop car racing down the street by the park...still can't take them seriously due to their appearance and the fact their sirens sound like something that belongs on a gameshow...haha

So once again, basically everything at every store is majorly discounted right now for teh summer sales, and its insane!  The streets are packed and as usual, no one looks where they're going, and I feel this only gets worse because people want to take advantage of all the mad deals....I avoided the crowds today and decided to lay out in the park instead where its slightly more peaceful.  I figured yesterday dealing with the craziness was enough for me for a while...I realized I am very American in the fact that I hate not having my own personal space and get quite irritated when people make me feel claustrophobic.  While I was shopping, I felt like swarms of people were constantly coming at me, and as usual, the "excuse me" or "thanks for letting me pass through first" or "sorry I smashed you in the face with my bag" seems to be highly overrated over here...as a matter of fact, yesterday a lady kept lurking right up against me and I accidentally sneezed at her, and I don't even feel bad about it haha. 

I also realized once again how ridiculously strong the sun is here!  I seriously probably laid out for like an hour and a half and my arms are red...not to mention it was ridiculously warm in the park...Madrid could really use a beach....

Today I am working in the evening, so I'm off to get ready!

Maybe I will brave the shopping crowds after work when things MAYBE have calmed down...
