What is your most embarrassing travel experience?

Messed up my wording and told someone I was both pregnant and drunk...dang language barriers.

Highlights

  • Accidentally ignoring my roommate Luigi on the street because I thought he was just a creeper grabbing my arm

Well not a ton has happened since my last update - I did end up going to the beach with Natsuho, and ran into my roommates Luigi and Annette on the way, so they joined up as well.  Got a little sunburned (OOPS) then headed back around 7...a few of the roommates went out at night, but I decided to stay back since I was quite tired and still hadn't really caught up on energy from the weekend!  I did promise them that we would go out tonight though, so I'm sure that will be an adventure :)

Today I met up with Alberto, Cintia, and David, and they also introduced me to their friend Sarah, who is going to Michigan tomorrow!  Small world...haha.  I was pretty excited because the first time in a while, I felt like I had decent, complete conversations in Spanish and didn't feel lost while participating in talks with a group of Spanish people...YAY!

I think that is about the extent of the excitement for now though!  The heat situation is much better now that I found a fan to sneak...WOOT.

I reallllyyy wish time would slow down though!  This whole only having two and a half weeks left of Madrid kind of freaks me out...I feel like I've made so many good friends here, and the best part is that I've never felt so close to people from other cultures before.  Not that I thought I wouldn't get along with them or anything, but its like my associations with these people is far past the point of being fascinated and entertained by each other, and now we reached a level where we're all realizing we're all the same, twenty-something people and can click really well even if we may not have been raised the same way or speaking the language...gotta love it.
