Stories from my Madrid Adventures!

So this journal blog thing is kind of confusing, first I have to make an entry, and then I make the actual journal I believe??? So we're going to try this :) So this will be where I'm storing all the journals for what takes place from now until August 9

Time keeps flying!

Here's a little bit more of what's been going on lately: First off, I feel like this heat makes me lazy and not blog as often...lol.  I avoid my room at certain hours when I know it will be the warmest, not gonna lie!  So Monday I attempted to take a very large nap, which failed epically since I couldn't get myself to sleep longer than 20 minutes, then at night (yes, apparently I still accepted going out and about at night) we went to El Tigre for some tapas...DELICIOUS.  Then yesterday was a very slow day at work since bookings for upcoming Forocio trip are filling up and not so popular anymore.  In the evening I hung out with Katie, went to our favorite frozen yogurt place, and wandered around El Corte Ingles a little bit.  At night, I decided I wanted to take it easy, but my roommate suckered me into coming out with them, AGAIN. lol.  Every one of my roommates is super social this time around, and always want to go out and about at night, and since Eva is leaving at the end of the night, I feel guilty not going...its funny because when I came here I was worried that I would never have anything to do and people would never invite me to go to things, and quite frankly it is the exact opposite....lol.  Also when you go to hang out with the roommates, they promise it will only be an hour, and then before you know it, 2 hours have passed, and you still haven't left for the apartment!  But I suppose I shouldn't complain, it IS my last two weeks after all!   Today at work is really slow again, but its kind of nice to have things peaceful around here.  Then on Friday we leave for Lisbon, Portugal with Forocio for the weekend!!! Ahhhh so excited.   So as the trip is starting to get down to the end, here's some things I've decided I will miss and not miss about this place after a couple months of observation:   -Things I will miss. *Being in the city center next to everything, and never having to be bored *Meeting tons of new interesting people from all over the world and becoming friends with them as if you've known them for years *Going to the pool/weekend excursions to the beach *Making fun of accents with the roommates and comparing cultures *Being surrounded by liveliness all the time (now that I've learned to sleep through noise) *Eating delicious ice cream all the time *Learning random phrases in as many languages as possible   Things I won't miss: *People shoving fliers in your face on the streets, and chasing you down to interview you *People NOT knowing how to walk in a non-chaotic manner *Warm temperatures and never being able to cool down   -Also, only in Madrid, can you have it where you're talking in a circle with your friends in public, and the next thing you know there is some outrageously dressed Chinese person standing in the middle of you smiling and trying to sell you really random merchandise
