Stories from my Madrid Adventures!

So this journal blog thing is kind of confusing, first I have to make an entry, and then I make the actual journal I believe??? So we're going to try this :) So this will be where I'm storing all the journals for what takes place from now until August 9

Well I have about an hour and a half left here at Forocio, and I just finished getting everything booked for the day and responding to emails...so I figured might as well hop on the blog for a while.  I'm really enjoying my job, and I feel like my boss, Frank, is starting to trust me more and more with things, and I also like that he asks for my help with English translations for the company when needed.  Everyone who works here is so friendly, and it doesn't feel strange to have conversations with the two people who head the office here.  It's also *slightly* warm right now, BUT we do have A/C plugged in over here and a fan going, which is far than the climate conditions in the apartment...lol.

Last night some of the roommates and I went to our favorite Spanish place, El Buson.  Since we have a new roommate from Brazil here, we figured we might as well get to know her a bit, and also our old roommate María who moved out on Wednesday is still around, and we've been missng her!

As predicted, I had quite the time trying to fall/stay asleep last night ;(  There were parties going on in both plazas on either side of the apartment.  I finally decided to put up with the warm temperature and close my window so there was less noise, but i could still hear everyone pretty loud and clear...then I woke up a few times randomly to people yelling and being crazy, then again at 7 am because the window was rattling from the construction across the street.  The only tricky thing about this is that the sleep I get at night is vital, because the warm day temperatures along with the daytime traffic noises makes it impossible to sleep during the day, so basically the sleep I get at night is it.  But other than that annoying bit, I really have nothing to complain about...lol.  I'm still continuing to meet a lot of friendly, open people, and am continuing to find out just how much I have in common with these people.  I'm actually pretty sure I met a girl who is basically the same person as me, other than the fact that she is from the Czech Republic...BUMMER.  I also have a group of girls that I enjoy hanging out with when I'm not with the roommates or work people...one is from China, one is from Wales, and the other is from Japan...but when we hang out, its easy to forget all the differences in our cultures.  Its funny because I really don't hang out with Americans over here, maybe a few at times, but I feel like the main groups of friends I've made are all from Europe or Asia...its quite fun that way, though :)  I must say though, I DO intend to hang out with some Americans for the 4th of July, and hopefully we can drag some of our friends from other countries to celebrate with us as well...haha.

Tonight I am going to an event that my work hosts called "La Playa"...I'm excited to hang out with some work people and some of the people I made friends wiht in Ibiza that will also be there!
