This journal is about my extended vacation which will involve travelling to Japan, several European countries such as Norway, Poland, Austria, Switzerland & Greece as well as some stops in Canada and Hawaii on my way home to Australia.

So the journey ends...

So finally my world tour will be coming to an end and what a fine place to end it in...Hawaii!

I said farewell to a cold autumn in canada about 2 weeks ago. Despite all the earlier bad luck I had had in Canada, I managed to have a really good time in Whistler. It is a lovely ski resort town surrounded by mountains and I had the chance to exlpore some of the town's numerous forest trails which offer excellent hiking.

Arriving in festive and tropical Honolulu, I couldn't help but see how greatly it contrasted to dreary Vancouver where everyone looks permanently hard done by. I got to celebrate my b'day here in honolulu and spent the day shopping and swimming at waikiki. A most fine day.

I spent a week exploring the island of Oahu (where honolulu is) and then spent a week on a neighbouring lush island called Kaua'i. I really enjoyed the tranquility of Kaua'i, which is far less commericialized and populated than Oahu.

I have to admit that the american serving size of meals is quite disturbing. I have seen 1.4kg pizzas, bowls of the greasiest food served in bucket sized proportions and I guess it is to be expected that I have also seen more morbidly obese people than I have ever seen in my life. It makes me think that they need to set up guide lines in the food industry that prevent such keg-like mounds of fattening food even being sold.

I will be back in Sydney in a few days and can honestly say I don't mind going home now since I am rather tired of the road. It will be nice to sit in one place for a while! And I will be reunited with my guitar.

Once I get back and sort through my 10,000 + quantity of photos-I kid you not-I have THAT many photos, I will add more to these blogs andthen I may add a summary blog of my travels in 2007.

Happy travelling! It's up to the rest of you to have your adventures now while I chill at home.
