Well it has been a while since my last journal entry. Since I wrote last I travelled with Shean and my parents to Przemysl which lies next to the ukrainian border and stayed there for almost a week and spent lots of time visiting relatives. Later I visited Krakow and then went trekking in the tatra mountains which span southern poland and northern slovakia. Walking in the mountains was definately one of the highlights of poland. I hope to add a journal entry for that time later on, if I get the time of course, which I never seem to have enough of.

I have been in Prague for almost 2 weeks now. It began most merrily with me seeing the new harry Potter film, which I loved, and then the next day I bought the final harry potter book. So I spent the first few days devouring the final instalment of the series and going for strolls around the city too. It is a pity that there will be no more books to come but I thought the ending of the book was rather fitting.

My time in Prague has been very relaxed. I have done lots of reading. Besides Harry potter I read another book called My Dirty little book of stolen time- a very weird book about a time travelling danish harlot from the 1800s. I have cought up on sleep here and have finally recovered from being sick. Some days I havent even left the apartment besides a quick dash for supplies at nearby food megastore Tesco, ahh tesco...everything in bulk and the frenzied movement of hordes of people. It is so big that some of the staff move around the store on rollerblades. The beer there is a bargain too. I got 0.5L of Kozel beer for 46c per bottle..excellent!

I particularly enjoyed the many days were I visited various forests and parks and painted watercolour pictures of my surroundings. The hills of mala strana have really nice views over the city and of prague castle and the hill sides are covered with pear and sour cherry trees. I took the liberty of festing on as many ripe cherries as I could since they were so abundant.

I am off to switzerland in 3 days. I feel ready for a change of scenery now. I might buy a bunch of food to take to switzerland since it is so crazily cheap here and switzerland isnt. I wonder what customs will think when they see my bag stuffed with salami, bags of instant borscht and all sorts of treats.

Hey! It seems you had a great timein Prague! I agree that it is just a great city. I was happy to find a wide variety of museums in Prague covering almost anything you can think of: national history, communism, historical Czech art, music, literature. To see all of Prague museums would take several days of staying in hotels in Prague (http://www.prague-hotels.org.uk) for vacation. If you are interested in some specific area, you will easily find museum in Prague for your interests.
