There is one week left before I embark on my 7-8 month adventure overseas. There is probably alot I ought to be doing, but then again, perhaps not. When trying to organise such a long trip it seems that the best way to approach it, is to not plan everything and hence leave something up to chance, spontaneous whims, the weather or at least I am hoping so anyway.

I have never undertaken such a long trip nor have I ever been away from home for this long before, so I feel that this trip will provide me with lots of interesting challenges and adventures and hopefully a tonne of great photos too. My somewhat disorganised approach may mean that I end up staying in a barn in Switzerland forced to eat nothing but goat's cheese for a week or camping/squatting in my best friend's yard somewhere in germany. But even so, at least there will be stories to tell and it will be a wonderful change from the rather uninspiring routine that has been my life of late .

I organised the tour by getting a round the world ticket, organised the trip loosely...like say I said I want to spend 3 weeks in switzerland and I researched a few places I wanted to go and kept them in mind when booking accomodation 1month to 1 week in advance. So my plans are flexible and I can change them if need be. Oh and I saved for over a year to get enough money for the trip and quit my job.

wish you the best of luck on your adventure! i'm green with envy =) oh, their journals work great, but i've been doing photos as i don't have much time to write right now. hope to read journals about your adventure! i'm curious to see how an unplanned (or little-planned) trip turns out =)
