Hey!! I am going to Bond too! When do you leave? I fly out of Boston on Jan 6th at like 6pm. Where do you go to school? I'm originally from VT but I go to school at Wheelock in Boston.

    again with the word limit...
everyone goes there and its pretty crazy. Theres a tunnel to get there that everyone calls the rape tunnel, but no one has been raped there... its the bridge right before it that you should watch out for. Theres also CBD, thats cool to go to. But thats all within walking distance.

Packing wise, be careful cuz everyone gets charged for having too much. A lot of the time, you end up buying clothes here. When its time to leave, most people leave most of their stuff behind, its just so much easier.

last point for now - theres a student flight center on campus and they are great with helping you book trips. but search around yourself for flights and what not as prices change all the time- you'll learn to love virgin blue and jetstar
I would highly rec getting to Fraser Island, Moreton Island, Cairns, and leaving for the reef/Whitsundays from Airlie beach
Byron Bay and Nimbin are close by
I'll be in Bali /New Zealand for 2 weeks pretty soon
    hope this helped

sorry, it wouldnt let me finish...

for clothes- its going to be hot, really hot. Everyone just wears beachwear, shorts, tanks, etc. Bring something for the rain - its doesnt normally but its bad when it does
club have strict dress codes too, like in Surfers Paradise

meal plan wise, I dont know what you have but normally its two meals a day
the food is not all that great, and again, this is where people spend more then they intend

for phones, you can go with CIS's Piccell thing, but most people find it easier to buy a phone here, and buy min. You can do that at the post office on campus. Check out vodafone - some people even use the piccell phone but buy a vodaphone sim card
    I dont really trust piccell

You will have a lot of fun here, theres a bar on campus and although its open always open, they throw great parties and provide buses to clubs in Surfers paradise. Everyone goes out on tues and thurs nights. Theres a bar/club across the highway from the school called varsity tavern

Somethings equal out to be the same, but keep in mind that minimum wage here is $20 an hr, and you most likely won't have an income
It's not crazy expensive, but take Tim Tams for example (please try them you'll love them), their $4 a pack and portion size here is small
    Really, things add up quickly
most people dont realize how much they are spending

Drink wise, yeah at bars, its about the same. But at the "bottle store" it can really be that much more expensive depending on what you drink. you'll be trying new things because you don't want to pay $50 + for a 24 pack of beer

in the dorms, they provide blankets and a pillow although most people, me included, bought more. The room is cleaned by housekeeping every tuesday and they do change the sheets. The dorms aren't bad at all
I iive in the accommodation building and I have a connecting balcony, fairly clean bathroom and enough space.
