MY COSTA RICAN IMMERSION

I AM DOING AN IMMERSION PROGRAM IN SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA TO IMPROVE MY SPANISH SO I WON'T NEED AN INTERPRETER TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING HISPANIC PATIENTS. I ALSO WANT TO EXPERIENCE AND APPRECIATE THEIR CULTURE TO THE FULLEST!

I MADE IT SAFELY TO COSTA RICA!

Well, I made it to Costa Rica and everything is going well.

Hi everybody! Hola todo el mundo!
Well, I made it to Costa Rica and everything is going well. I do miss the nice hot showers in the comfort of my own home but my Tica family is wonderful. My Tica mom has made me a part of the family and luckily thinks all her "kids" should spend their time studying and not doing household chores. My room is a lot nicer than I expected with a private bath and a television. My brain was a bit fried yesterday as class went until 6:00PM because we had a field trip into downtown San Jose to learn our way around. I couldn't believe how crowded it was! I just wanted to write a short entry to let you guys know I am alive and studying (MUCHO) in Costa Rica. I'll write more when I have some pictures and info to share. Chau! Mary
