Adelaide was an even smaller city than Melbourne. The hostel here was an old motel type place. I intended to visit Kangaroo Island which is basically a wildlife reserve where you could walk right up to the animals and feed and pet them. That was going to be really expensive so we just decided to take a tour of the city which included a visit to the Cleland Wildlife Park. The city was real small and the tour took a few minutes. We headed towards the mountains and after a few minutes we were on the winding roads that lead up the mountain. You could look over the side of the road and see just a huge drop. If you lost control on that road you weren’t going to gain it back and would definitely have a huge fall. The park was nice it was almost exactly like Kangaroo Island except we had a personal tour guide. The guide was really nice and helpful and told us so much information. At the park we were able to walk right up to all the kangaroos and they ate right out of my hand. We also got to pet some koalas which was cool. Both animals were so soft and it was pretty nice to actually be petting one and feeding one. Also the park was home to many birds, Tasmanian devils, and a load of reptiles. The kangaroos were definitely my favorite. After the park we went to the highest point in Adelaide for a view of the city. Along with Melbourne, Adelaide was real cold. I couldn’t wait to head north for warmer weather.
