The Gold Coast was another beach town which I loved. It reminded me a lot of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. The beach was littered with skyscraper hotels, and there were open air plazas everywhere. Also you couldn’t walk 20 yards without seeing a souvenir shop. One full day was spent walking around and checking out the beach. The next day I took a trip to Sea World and found it was almost exactly like the Sea World in Orlando. If you took away the Aussie accents it was basically the exact same thing. It was a good time. The beaches were gorgeous, filled with white sand and blue water I loved just laying out all day. I really couldn’t shake the feeling that I was in Myrtle Beach the entire time I was there, that’s how similar the two places were. The hostel I stayed at was really a motel I thought. If that place was here in the US it would be a motel and probably wouldn’t have been so cheap. I had heard that where we were staying was the rough part of town and to be careful at night. I really didn’t find anything troubling and just thought it to be another Aussie city, now I don’t know if maybe I missed it all or it was the Aussie idea of a rough town was really just another town that there was maybe an issue once every other year. This marked the end of our break and it was time to hit the school books once again. I got to see many beautiful sights along my travels and many new things. For the most part though, I must say it felt kind of like here in the states. It was just like I had gone on a tour of the US really and it was pretty cool. I had great time traveling Australia and I am extremely glad I did.
