What was your most challenging travel experience?

My most challenging travel experience was spending 8 weeks in Germany by myself as a high school exchange student. Fortunately, I learned German in high school, so I was able to communicate with the German people. However, it was still scary to be away from home in a completely different country for so long. Plus, we didn't have email, cell phones, or the Internet back then!
