IMTI's workshop featuring Montessorian experts from Xavier University's Montessori Graduate Program!

So I've been gone the last few months, just being busy busy busy before the year of the Tiger comes around! Well, there was a pretty cool event recently at IMTI. They hosted a VERY interactive workshop for Montessorians and school directors that focused on the Montessorian Sensorial Elements and how they Related to the Arts. The Montessori Graduate Program Director and Montessori Lab School Principal lead the discussion and gave new insight on Montessori Sensorial teaching methods. There were loads of people at the event. I met some people from some of the international schools in Beijng, but also a lot of prominent montessori schools outside of Beijing (Shanghai, Qingdao, Weihai, Guangzhou). I also got to meet the lady deemed "Mother of Montessori" in China.

The interactive sessions (there were two) were really fun, and i even got to take home my own personal beaded, foam necklace as part of the activity. I know kids would love this activity and could really see how Montessori methodolgy worked in this hands on approach.

Anywho, that was part of the first Montessorian Series that IMTI is holding this year, and I believe there will be 3 more! Woo hoo! Exciting stuff!
