we headed out to Arenal where we went swimming at the base of a 200 ft waterfall, right next to a 5,437 ft volcano.

This past weekend was soooo AMAZING! I decided to buckle down and pay for the optional excursion to  Arenal and Monte Verde. It was pretty steep in cost ($195) but at the end of it all it was so worth it. We boarded the bus at 1:00pm on this past friday Feburary 3rd and headed to a first destination of Arenal. We arrived that evening  checked into our rooms and headed up the ol dusty road to bath and relax in the hot water springs of Baldi Hot Springs. It was so relaxing and fun. They have this super fast water slide that basically zips you down and plummets you into the water. Sounds a tad bit scary but it's so fun! We had dinner buffet style, which was very fullfilling. We headed back after dinner to enjoy more hot water and called it a night. On day two we headed out to Arenal where we went swimming at the base of a 200 ft waterfall, right next to a 5,437 ft volcano. How many people can actually say they have experienced this? I now can. After that we packed up our things and took small tourist bus to the lake. Here we boarded a boat and cross the lake, then boarded another tourist bus taking us into the great mountains of Monte Verde where we arrived at our awesome hotel. The next morning we had breakfast and headed out to go Extreme Zip lining! The instructors helped us gear up and we went through a tutorial session. Once that was over we headed out to start zipping through the Monte Verde Rainforest. It was a unforgetable experience. After the zip lining part was over most of us built up enough courage to take a 148 ft free fall of a platform deck-this is officially called the Tarzan swing. All you have is the harnest around your waist and your hands on the rope...It was totally life changing in my opinion. If your afraid of heights or want to go bungie jumping but just haven't built up enough courage to just go for the gusto, this is a great way to solve all that :). This past weekend has offered myself and others and experience of a life time and it was all worth the price!
