First Chance First

Well, two weeks-ish here and this is the first time I have had to really try and put a journal entry in. And I only have 15 minutes until delicious dinner. . . . If we didn't have a quasi-schedule for classes, I would say time doesn't exist here.

Oh, Brazil!!!

Each moment as it comes, right?

Well, I am back in town. The breakfast thing didn't happen at the farm. Well, it did for some of us. We arranged for 2 taxis to arrive at the Ecocentre at 8:30 am, and then one was going to return for another load of people as well. One taxi should up on time-ish (oh Brazil) and 5 people got in that one and took off. The people waiting for the round trip taxi went back to the Ecovillage to wait and 6 more of us waited for the second taxi that was supposed to arrive at 8:30-ish as well. Understanding that we were in Brazil, we waited for the Brazilian time difference to pass. Well, we waited for almost an hour. I'd say that is more than enough time, in fact, I'd say that is rather generous, right? So, we decided to run to the end of the dirt road of IPEC and catch the 9:30 am bus to Anapolis, a town about an hour and change away. Each moment as it comes, right? We wanted to see some more of Brazil anyway, so trade off. While we were there, we walked around the downtown area looking for breakfast, but everything was closed. Sigh, Sunday. We ended up right back where we started, at the local mall where we had originally stopped to exchange money. We grabbed super greasy, cheesy pizza, some amazing cafe and mad chocolate treats. Oh, happy day. . .

We also checked out bus times and prices to other locations. We are only in the program for another week!!! AHHHHHH! A new friend, Arianne, will be traveling with me for three days after the program over to the Pantanal, a swamp ecosystem that was an inland sea many moons ago. Fortunately, the rain makes a large portion of it undeveloped. Whoot! We are going to see a lot of animals and fauna. Hopefully, we will be horseback riding and seeing jaguars. Check it out!!!

Well, back to the ecovillage for dinner. Peace and Solidarity. . . and Permaculture!!!!!
