Back at the beginning of my traveling for the military, I was in Atsugi Japan and was at a train station and needed to use the facilities. I had asked a policeman where a restroom was and he didnt understand what I was asking. He thought I wanted to take a nap or sleep or something. then I ask for the bathroom, he wanted to know if I needed to take a bath. I even made a gesture like I was needing to "pee" and just looked at me like I was nuts, still not understanding. Finally I happened to look to the left and seen a sign that said "Toilet" I said Ahhhh there it is. He proceeded to just laugh at me after that. Now I know the intl word is toilet.
