To begin a sort of travel journal, I will use these notes to communicate mysteriously across land and sea, earth and air, back to the people I know, so that I can make you all jealous. Also, then I need not repeat myself a thousand times over. First off, the journey to where I am now. I left on Friday. My first flight from milwaukee was overbooked by one person, and I was lucky enough to be standing next to the counter when the announcement was made. Result: one Southwest airlines travel voucher for $326 (the flight only cost me $120), a wait of seven hours ...till the next flight, and a good omen to begin the trip.Anyways, Milwaukee to Kansas City, KC to Los Angeles. I flew in to L.A. at night, which is probably the best way to see the place. Like a giganticsparklyshinythingthat goesinall directionsblinkingbrightHUGE. Either way it was impressive. Hotel sleep. The next day I was back at the airport trying to figure out how to waste an entire day, as my flight didn't leave till late.As is my habit in times of confusion, I was playing harmonica, when an attendant lady started doing a bit of a jig. Play it again Sam! she tells me. Anyway she's pretty nice, and lets me know how to get to the beach by bus for 1$. I spend the day there wandering the peir, snapping pictures, and getting inspirational talks from homeless people with their own christian rap groups. That night I fly out, huge plane 747, I believe. Flights not bad about 9 hours, and I get in to Fiji, the next morning, or perhaps its two mornings later. Its Monday at any rate, and its hoooooooooot. The extent to which t is hot is represented by the amount of O's by the way. Then after a few hours of line standing, and sweating, it's off to Auckland. Another 5 hours, a second airline breakfast (They DO know about second breakfasts here) and I'm landing in Auckland. Little bit of a windy landing, and I'm regretting 2nd breakfast.I manage to get off the plane and through customs without vomiting on any federal agents, and all of a sudden I'm in New Zealand. Whoohoo. I take a nap outsidethe airport in the napping/ smoking zone and recover.Man, this is getting long. Turns out Auckland is rather stylised and shiny and, well, very clean, isn't it? Yes, it's very clean. I get a bus to the downtown area and wander with all my life on my back till I find my Hostel. And I'm spent.Well this is really to long already, so lets say I took a ferry to an island, had an overnight hike, got back, got on another bus. And finally met my first WWoofing family, which is where I am now. Alright, I'm done, I'll let you all know how it goes.
