Today we called Tiw’s number again and this time, the call went through! Finally! I was just so happy to hear her voice and to know there’s someone we know in this city. I mean I didn’t really know her but I have heard so much about her I felt as if I knew here and I knew we were going to be friends. We chose to meet at Victory Monument after her class. We took the MRT and BTS to get there and when we arrived, a funny thing happened because we were looking for a phone booth and Christine and I asked different people where it was because there wasn’t one nearby. I talked to a guard and he said it was on the street below right after we get off the stairs on my left. So I was surprised when Christine started to lead me toward something in front of us. We walked and when we got to the end, I asked what we were doing there. She pointed to the monument on the other side of the road and said, “Isn’t that where we are supposed to meet Tiw?” Hahaha! I couldn’t help but laugh. I told her no. We were supposed to look for a payphone so I can call Tiw to let her know we were at the station and the she would come to us.
Anyway, we finally met Tiw and here friend Huey and had lunch in a mall near the station. Afterwards we went to a place near Thong Lo station to accompany Huey buy a computer and Tiw to get a computer in a repair shop. Since the repair would take a couple of hours, we went to a Big C mall and Carrefour. Bangkok is definitely more expensive than Manila. I mean the same item in the Philippines would be twice as expensive as in Bangkok. I forgot if I bought anything, maybe coffee. Thai’s sure love coffee! I saw coffee shops everywhere!
At around 8 pm, Tiw got a call from the hotel telling her to tell us that we had overstayed our reservation and that we had to get our things out of the hotel. The rest of the group hasn’t arrived yet and we kind of got a little scared. We didn’t know anything about Bangkok at all and we had nowhere else to go. The whole group was supposed to have dinner but it was already late and still no group. We decided to stay out and call the hotel every 30 minutes or so to ask if they have arrived yet.
The entire group finally arrived at around midnight and we were so glad to see them. Everything was finally sorted out and we got to sleep safe and sound.
