Thailand and Cambodia Trip 2007

My most recent trip which includes visits to the different cities in the "land of smiles", a country with such incredible people and very rich culture. We also Experienced and witnessed the amazing and awesome history, culture and architecture of Cambodia.

This trip definitely changed my view and perception in Life! I'm sure it did the same to my travel buddies.

We arrived at the capital city, Bangkok at 1:30 in the morning after a smooth 2 hours something flight from the Philippines. Guess what was the first unique thing I've experienced?! BUGS!, yes, yes and yes! I ate fried bugs (and i actually liked it, btw ;-)) by the street and some Thai fried rice and noodles. Perfect combination! Yummy! ;-). Thailand offers delicious but cheap street food. And you don't have to worry about stomach trouble, street food here is safe! The sight of foreigners eating streetfood in the sidewalks is a daily picture of Bangkok.

If you are a city person and loves the night life, Bangkok is "the place" for you. You can choose from luxurious night clubs to cheap bars. Nights in Bangkok are definitely vibrant and full of life. Shopping in Thailand was a fun experience for me. They offer good quality of goods at reasonable price. They have night and weekend markets where you can buy clothes, crafts and souvenirs. As a tip though, you should try bargaining on the price down to 25%, especially if you are buying a bunch of stuff. It's common and acceptable, just don't go too low as you might piss the vendor.

The scavenger hunt! (i'll write soon!)

Thailand was not called "the land of smiles" for no reason, people indeed are friendly! I feel safe walking on streets even late at night or early mornings. Great bars too.

In summary: Beautiful city, friendly people, good service. But worst traffic i've ever experienced!
