So I went off the plane - it was a roughly two hours trip. I was a little dizzy since I fell asleep on this flight too, guess I was too tired :-). I saw Scott patiently waiting for me right at the waiting area. We kissed and said our hellos and got my luggage which didn't take very long, thank God! My fist taste of the US - I started to feel like everything is efficient and organized especially after that experience at SM. We drove straight to Scott's place where I will be staying while I am in Jacksonville - I got to settle down and wash up. I also met Louie and Sebastian - Scott's dogs. Really sweet and smart dogs. They were very hospitable and greeted me with slurps and hugs here and there ;-). Another taste of American culture - DOGS are members of the family! I've read and heard about all these but it's still different experiencing things first hand. This is one of the few places in the world where dogs are well taken care of and they are treated like, well, human beings. They sleep with their owners in their bed, fed everyday, and yes, they have hospitals for animals here! I don't know how true but most people say dog owners spend more money on their dogs than their kids!
After getting settled we went to eat dinner. Ironically, we ate at a Chinese retaurant and I had spicy cantonese fried noodles for my very first meal in the US - Asian food! haha! First few lessons I've learned: Always fasten your seatbelt - I've already forgotten to fasten my seatbelt three times in my first two days. Tipping is BIG when you are eating at a restaurant, you should tip at least 10-20 percent of your bill.
