It’s a life-changing experience, I highly recommend it!
I’ve always loved to travel, and even though in every trip you learn a lot about the country’s ways of life and customs, being only a tourist wasn’t enough for my requirements. I chose Egypt because it was always an appealing location for me and I wanted to live that unique culture.
Since it was a country that I’ve always longed to visit, I have a lot of books and magazines related to its geography, culture and people. I was quite informed about it. Anyway I guess the world-known pyramids where the main spot I wanted to visit.
I was worried about the weather and what to wear. Surprisingly, because it’s a dry heat it wasn’t as hot as I thought, and at night I even wore a sweater because it was quite chilly! I was also amazed on how quickly I was speaking Arabic, another big concern I had.
The first thing that caught my attention was the traffic! It’s crazy; cars go wherever and whenever without following any rules or laws. It is really messy, I never drove in the city, but I don't know if I had the chance I would have the courage to do it. Crossing the street is quite an adventure!
It was hard to get used to the food, it is very spicy. But after a few days I was enjoying all of these new flavors, I even brought back home some recipes of typical dishes.
I even went out in Egypt, it has a really interesting offer in nightlife. I didn’t thought I would find such lively bars and nightclubs, I was clearly wrong. Parties last until 4 or 5 AM in the morning!
It’s a life-changing experience, I highly recommend it!
