Buenos Dias! Today was my first day of language classes. I woke with only two hours of sleep but I survived the day without a nap! You are probably wondering why I only got two hours of sleep...I partly blame it on my body's internal clock adjusting to the new time here and I also blame it on the little Spanish man who was playing the pink panther theme song on the saxophone on the street outside my apartment from 3-5 am. I know that is random but I'm dead serious. At first I thought...oh that's kinda cool, some nice music. Well, little did I know that it was going to last for 2 hours and be the 30 second part of the theme song that people recognize...over and over and over. All I can say is I think he needs to get a day job.

Anyways, back to my day...when I arrived at the school I took a placement test and then was put into a class that matched my level of Spanish. There are six students in my class and none of them are from the United States. From what I understood, two of the girls are from Korea (one of the girls lives in my apartment), there is a guy from Russia, and then I'm not sure where the two other girls are from. They all appear to be around my age. However, when I was taking the placement tests there were lots of other people taking the test and everyone but myself and my two roommates were at least 40 years old. I found that to be very impressive! Mom & Dad there is hope for you to learn Espanol!! The adults were from all over the world as well. There was a couple from Australia and a women from Holland. Class was good and went by very fast. For the next two weeks I will have class from 9-1 Monday-Friday.

After class today Lisa and I decided to we should practice our Spanish and thought that going shopping was a good way to do that. So, we spent the afternoon doing that and it was a blast! Tomorrow we are going to take the double decker bus tour and get acquainted with all the areas of Madrid.

I promise that tomorrow I will post some pictures and maybe some video if I can figure out how to. I did take a little video of the pink panther serenader last night so if you're lucky you might get a glimpse of what I listened to all night long.

I'm off to bed, as of right now I can hear beautiful cello music being played outside my room and it is very soothing. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that this guy holds his ground if the saxophone player tries to move in to the spot last he was at last night!
