Hola! Today I spent the day getting settled in. Two of my roomies and I did some shopping to get some things for our apartment. I got the basics like towels, toilet paper, hair dryer, and then did some grocery shopping. The store we shopped at is called El Corte Ingles and it is huge! It's like a mini Mall of America..it combines a grocery store, best buy, bed bath and beyond, sports authority, Barnes and Nobel, Nordstroms, and target all into one store. It takes up 3 street corners and each of the corners stores are between 3-7 floors. One could literally travel to Madrid with a small carry on and go to this one store and get everything they would ever need. I will remember this next time I travel here and skip the 100 lbs of luggage I brought. Another great thing about this store is that it is only a 30 second walk from my apartment!

Tomorrow I start my two weeks of classes at the language school. The classes will be 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. I'm really looking forward to it!

As for the rest of the week, when I'm not in class I'm just going to do some exploring of the city. I might hop on one of the double decker bus tours to get a better feel for everything before I wander around on my own. Tuesday I think I'm going to try and take a yoga class over here and find a gym to join. This next weekend my roommate Lisa's brother and cousin are flying into Madrid so we will be hanging out with them and will probably experience some of the great Madrid night life. Then, the following weekend Lisa and I are taking the train to Barcelona to meet them there and spend the weekend exploring the city. I'm really looking forward to it!

Hey! I just saw your Madrid blog on here, and thought I would ask you how you were liking it so far. I'm thinking about interning in Spain this summer and Madrid is my top choice, and I'm also leaning towards doing it through Adelante Abroad. I wondered if you wouldn't mind telling me how your experience has been so far and if you'd recommend it? I feel the only way to really know if you're going to get a good quality program is by asking people who have done or are doing it, because a website can really only tell you so much! If you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it :) Thanks and hope you're enjoying your time over there!
