Hello All

I know it has been a few days I am sorry. It has been very busy. I left you off when we explored the Roman nightlife which is interesting. We found a pub that played all 90's pop music which we proceeded to sing loudly. Almost everyone in this pub was America. I met a French guy and tried to speach French to him, I most likely made a fool of myself but it was a lot of fun.

The next day we went to a town outside Rome called Ostia Antica which was beautiful. We walked through Roman Ruins then had a picnic in the ruins. It was very nice. After coming back I relaxed and packed some. Then we went out to dinner together. We found a fairly good chinese place. So far the chinese has been thoroughly dissapointing but this place was pretty good. We got some gelatto and then went back and watched some Rome and headed to bed.

The next day we got a train to Ancona (spelling?) and caught a bus to the port. Our ferry was late but it was ok it was a nice day. The ferry really shouldnt of been called a ferry it was more of a cruise ship at least to me. Three of us shared a room it was nice. Small and cramped but nice. We hung out and read by the water and then got dinner at the self-service place. Later we hung out and went to the disco which they had on the boat. We were almost the only ones there but had fun and danced with each other. It was nice. Apparently one of my friends got a video of me doing the robot...look for that on youtube.

The next day we slept in and got off the boat in the early evening. We were very glad. While it was beautiful and relaxing, it was a lot. Following this we had a long bus ride to Athens. We stopped and got some kebabs and such and then headed to our hotel. Apparently we got upgraded to a 4 star hotel. It is very nice. The beds are very nice and comfy.

We got back late so we pretty much just went to bed when we got here. Our first day in Athens was nice. We went to the Acropolis and Parthenon. As well as the forum and some temples and churches. It was all so beautiful. I got a lot of good pictures. Then we were on our own for lunch and following lunch did some shopping. One of the Molly's has been to Greece before and knew of this famous shoe maker who sells these handmade sandals that are amazing and cheap.

Almost all of us got a pair. They are very Greek-style and the guy personally fits them to your feet. The whole experience was wonderful. They were only 23 euro which is great for a pair of sandals especially hand-made ones. This guy has fitted sandals for the beatles, jackie onasis etc. I am excited. You will like them.

After that we found our way back slowly through the rain. After that I did some laundry and hung out. I skipped dinner because I wasnt feeling well. Too many bumpy bus rides and boats. The breakfast here is great. They have these delicious greek pancakes and other fruits that are really good.

This morning we had an early morning and we went to an archeological museum in athens. Then we went on a bus ride to the coast and saw some ruins. It was so beautiful. Following this we went to a nunnery. Yes a nunnery. It was a great expierence. Got a lot of information. Almost made me want to join. Almost is the key word there. After that we got some dinner. We had greek appetizers. The food never ended. I thought I was going to explode. Thankfully it did and then we learned a greek dance. The bus rides had my stomach in knots. It is very bouncy going up and down greecean hills. It is worth every minute though.

Tomorrow we have an early morning. We are taking a ferry to a nearby island. Ahhh this is so beautiful. I wish you all were here with me. Only a few days till Istanbul. Only 8 more days till this trip is over. Crazy to think about it.

The title of this entry is Greece hates us because so far we have not gotten a totally warm vibe from Greece. Maybe it is because we are tourists we arent sure but we arent very well liked. What can you do. It is exciting because I have slowly been finding gifts for everyone (dont worry it is nothing expensive) I cant wait to give them.

So for housing I believe we got LQ 3 which isnt bad. I would rather live in LQ then anywhere else. It should all work out. I am choosing classes and getting everything together. It is very scary and exciting. Soon I will have to choose an SMP. Ahhh! Miss you guys. Love you.

I would have to disagree. Sarah you are very wrong. Also you cannot understand a people by staying there just for a few days.

Don't take it personally. Greeks women are vile (see comment above)- jealous, only have cleaning and cooking to talk about etc.
