So I was very excited to try out hot chocolate in Italy. I hear the coffee and other such products are much better here so I was really excited when we went to a coffee house and i ordered some. What they gave me was literally hot chocolate. It looked like hot chocolate icing. It was so thick. I tried it but how are you supposed too eat that. I've looked and looked and all their hot chocolate is too thick. I am mildly depressed about this but I guess I will have to move on.

Going along with the hot chocolate thing, when I ordered it I asked for it to go and they said ok and they have me a nice glass, a saucer and a spoon. I believe they told me to go and eat it and bring back the glass and everything. "To go" is a very weird concept in Italy. I ended up just keeping the glass cause I didnt feel like going back. Oops. Thats just one place I wont be allowed to go to. They will know me as the glass cup stealer.

Today we had to wake up extra early to get our furniture finally installed. Even though there is only two people in my room they are installing three desks, three wardrobes and three nightstands. There is not enough room so we will have to improvise. Now all we are waiting on is wireless. Right now my computer won't charge, something wrong with the power thingy but hopefully soon it will. I never found an alarm clock yesterday so tomorrow at the big market I hope to find one. Last night we went to this restaurant that doesnt have a menu. You tell them if you are vegetarian or not and then they bring out whatever they chose to cook on that day. It is very nice. Good food and fun.

I am getting lunch soon and then I am off to request for an extended stay in alba. we have to get our pictures taken or something. From there we are going to relax and hang out maybe ill take a nap and then dinner. Later we are going to the disco or the equivilent of what the americans consider to be clubs. It should be fun. My schoolmates and i decided there is a key phrase we need to learn. "How old are you?." A lot of these italian men are very short so you cannot tell. We were also thinking learning to say "Legal?" That could work too.

Our teacher is trying to set us up with italian classes since it seems very much a need. we may be able to get credit for it. It would be very nice. So we have this last weekend to relax then classes start. I'm excited to have a little structure. There isn't a lot to do during the day. I've been reading the Godfather, it is a very good book. Soon saldly I will be moving on to more boring books, hopefully they can keep my attention.

Anyway I am going to go relax a little. Miss you guys. Wish you were here to share this with me.

Wish me luck at the disco!

Ciao

Kat
