Hey all,

So the beautiful sun of Paris, Cologne, and Berlin has left. it is rainy and yucky here in Prague. Along with this I have had a series of unfortunate events. So in Berlin, the first night I walked around town and explored the main center a little and it was lovely. After that I came back and hung out with people from my hostel and enjoyed a nice evening. The next day I took one of the free tours that my hostel offers.

Pretty much you get a free tour of Berlin and at the end you just tip your guide 5 euro which is an amazing deal. I saw the main sights of Berlin, our tour guide was a great guy from Ireland and he had a good sense of humor which made the tour worthwhile. After the tour I went back to my place and relaxed and took a little nap. Then i was getting ready for my train the next morning so I cleaned out my bag and was organizing things and that is when i realized that I was missing my credit card. After an hour of searching and researching my things I was sure I didnt have it. I don't think it was stolen or if it was I don't think anyone used it. However, since it is so late in the game I am just going to wait till i return home and get a new one.

I will be ok without it, but it obviously isn't the best thing that could happen. The thing I noticed though is that in the past if this situation had aroused I would of usually panicked and started crying and freaking out, but I held my composure fairly well. I think it is one of those things that has come with travel. You learn how to handle yourself in a situation. I was upset obviously but I realized that freaking out would only make things worse. So I worked things out with the help from Uncle Arnie, he has been a lifesaver for me on this trip.

So even though i was a little upset I was excited for Prague. I get on my train in the morning even though the Berlin metro is so confusing so I almost missed my train. I meet a nice old man who speaks some English and we talk and the train is all nice. We get into the Czech Republic and they check my ticket and tell me that my eurailpass doesn't cover the Czech Republic, which I didn't know. I was so worried but he told me it was only 9 euro to get to Prague which isn't bad.

I get to Prague and I make sure to get a ticket for my train tomorrow. Pretty much I just have to pay for when I am in the Czech Republic and that ticket was only 7 euro. So after doing that I get on the metro and find the stop they say to stop at fairly easily and it says its a 1 min walk from the stop, but it doesn't say in what direction. So I try a couple and still no luck so I stop and ask for directions. Follow them and they don't work, I stop again and am led in the wrong direction again, then I finally just start walking in a random direction and was able to find my hostel. It is in a beautiful spot in the middle of old town. Sadly since I got here so late I am not going to be able to see much of the city, however I am going to try to see as much as I can.

My hostel is ok, it is cheap and the rooms are nice but there is no privacy in the showers, it is a little unnerving but I took a shower early so that I wouldn't have to worry about a lot of people being there. So tomorrow I leave at 6:25 am for Freiburg to visit Jacki. It is early and I am leaving extra early to make sure I get there on time. It is a metro ride away but also a walk and I trust walking more than I do the metro, early in the morning it doesn't run as frequently. I had two changes to get to Freiburg, but it shouldn't be bad. I arrive there at 5 PM and Jacki is going to pick me up at the station. I am excited. Not only to see a familiar face but just to have someone I know to spend time with. I think this will make me feel a lot better. I just need a little pick me up.

While my travel in the last day has been hectic, this is the nature of travel so I am trying to keep the most positive attitude that I can. I have a lot of hope for the rest of my travels. I miss everyone a lot and can't wait to see you all. I will be home soon. While I am excited I know once I come home I will miss it. I have met some amazing people who I still keep in touch with. This has been a crazy opportunity and I still can't believe I am doing it. I will be in touch soon.
