Tigre is probably the best place to enjoy the riverside and discover interesting islands.

Taramin and I arrived to Buenos Aires on Friday. We decided to visit all major tourist places and on Sunday afternoon we headed towards Tigre for a lovely boat trip.

As soon as we drop down from the train we didn’t know where to go, lost again! This time in Buenos Aires…

Luckily we found a kind boy named Lucas that spoke German and English and he gently showed us the way to the shore where the boats departed to different islands. Lucas bought the tickets for us since they are more expensive for foreigners than for locals. People are very friendly in Argentina and you will always find somebody ready to help.

We visited the biggest island where there are mnay houses, one next to the other with beautiful gardens and terraces. Most of them are summer houses and are only inhabited by the house sitter the rest of the year.

There is only one small street that goes around the whole island and a nice bar on one of the shores. We went around the entire island in just 15 minutes!

Until late in the afternoon we enjoyed the lovely day drinking mate and chatting with locals. We took the last boat and returned to Tigre right before sunset. As the sun hided we saw one of the most impressive views of Buenos Aires.
