Last week Taramin and I grabbed the car keys and we hit the road towards the famous Jesuit Estancias in Cordoba.

I guess the trip might have been a little more organized if we had known how to actually reach the Estancias!

At the beginning we were just fine, in the right road and with enough time to visit all the ancient Jesuit churches still intact in Cordoba’s mountains.

Suddenly the road forked, and we did not know where to go. We followed the one on our right and then asked to a passing by if we were on the right track. They told us we were, so we just kept on...

In a few minutes we were in the middle of a ruined and shattered path so steep you can’t even imagine!

As we went on we felt as if the car was breaking down and the track never ended! We went on and on...

We reached the Estancias a little too late! They were almost all closed and we just saw most of them form the outside.

After the journey we were starving and so tired; the problem had been that we had followed the old track! Anyway, the picturesque sights were worth it. Churches are impressive; with their pure white walls and colourful flowers they enchanted all visitors.

So if you ever go to Cordoba to visit the Jesuit Estancias look for the new road. If you are an adventure seeker you may follow the ancient path 'cause you will be kept at the edge of your seat during the whole journey!
