Art on the Edge of Politics 2011

About us:
Art on the Edge of politics is a once in a life time educational opportunity for you to become acquainted with the people, culture, history, literature, art, and geography of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, ... places few Westerners venture. All three countries are experiencing rapid change as they struggle to connect to the burgeoning global economy. Surrounded by successful “Asian economic tigers,” Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos offer emerging markets, natural resources, and cheap labor. Both countries as well offer a wide range of ethnic, geographic, and bio diversity; mountains, beaches, jungle, rugged coastline, and the huge Mekong Delta area in south of Vietnam, an area that is home to many endangered species like fresh water porpoise, red headed cranes, white storks, and Java rhinos. Luang Prabang features outstanding Buddhist temples.

Applications are now available! Application Packets for "Art on the Edge of Politics" with Dr. Hal Wert in the Winter Intercession 2011 are now available in the Academic Resource Center! If you are interested in venturing to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos this winter be sure to get your application in no later than the September 27, 2010 deadline!
