Travel Journal from Malaysia Borneo, Malaysia | Mon Aug 08, 2011 | Views: 921

Working for Kaya in their Philippines office has meant that I’ve been lucky enough to have a number of escapes throughout Asia during my 9 months here. My latest was a trip down to Borneo to check out a new Marine Conservation Project working to help protect the coral reefs which have been affected by decades’ worth of fish bombing. My journey starts here...After a pedi cab ride, 2 jeepney …

Travel Journal from Costa Rica San Carlos, Costa Rica | Sat Jul 24, 2010 | Views: 637

Well, it began raining so no termales (hot springs) yesterday. Instead Mary took us (Alba, Jose, Andreina, una amiga y Yo) to Tucanito, which is a favored bar close to here. I ordered Fajitas de pollo and also had a cocktail with refresca de mango, tequila, rum and peach juice...and 3 shots of chalito...but I wasn´t affected at all. For how cheap the food is here, I got quite a good …

So I woke up at 8 to go looking in the tiendas. Went to a coffee shop and got a iced moccachino (had chocolate ice cream in it) and mango cheescake. Headed back to the hotel and met the others. While Dylan rented a motorcycle, I went shopping a store that had many materials that looked so authentic, beautiful and colorful. After more viewing, we took the buses and headed …

So I have been here for a week and four days now, and it seems like I´ve lived here for a while. So last Friday, most of the volunteers went out to a bar not far away. I had a rum & cola and then Dylan bought shots of tequila for everyone. Rum & cola was alright, got another free one later from some guy at the bar lol and …

I just got back from Costa Rica, I met lots of other volunteers once I got there. Volunteers through other organizations. I mostly met them through the spanish classes, and through other volunteers. You will be fine and will meet others once you get there, if you dont find anyone before hand. Have a great time!!!
