Hello everyone!I know I haven't posted in quite a while, and honestly, the reason for that is because not many new things have happened!  I have had lots of papers and tests in the past few weeks, which made for a constant build-up of studying.

During that time, I did manage to have some fun!

On April 25th, Anzac Day took place. It is a somber day here, remembering and paying respects to New Zealand and Australian military who have died in previous wars.  Joey and I attended the Dawn Ceremony, which began at about 5:30 am!  But it was quite interesting, the way in which thousands of people gathered when it was pitch black outside for the same purpose. Joey even wrote a paper on it for his anthropology class!

I have been purchasing quite a few new books lately.  The most exciting one was earlier this week, when the university book store held a sale! How does 5 books for $10NZ sound?  There were some really neat titles, and I had a great time browsing, especially since free food and wine was available for shoppers! My current read is The Bully of Bentonville, which is about Walmart. I quickly finished Eric Schlosser's second famous book, Reefer Madness, which is about the underground economy in the US.  I recommend it highly!

And yesterday, I went to the Wellington Food Show which happens one weekend each year! It's a really massive event, with about 20,000 people showing up over the course of three days at the big sports stadium here.  The different stalls lined the concourse and made a big circle.  You pay $20 to get in, and if you can handle the claustrophobia from the crowds, you make your way around, trying different samples of cheese, bread, wine, dips and oils, and chocolate.  It was really neat! I took home a balsamic onion chutney and some bagel chips at a very reduced rate.

Well, I'm off to the Sunday morning market, and I send my apologies to all of you that I don't have more unique things to report!
