Day 28: The Never-ending Stairs

Today we went to St. Paul’s Cathedral. At first I wasn’t really looking forward to it, but I’m glad we went. The Cathedral itself was quite vast and beautiful. What really stood out to me though were the Whispering, Stone, and Golden Galleries. To get to the Galleries you had to pay £3, but it was so worth it!

The first set of stairs was about 257 to get to the Whispering Gallery. It is said that in the dome of the Whispering Gallery you can whisper something that can be heard all the way across it (around 62 metres away). Then to get to the Stone Gallery was another hundred-odd stairs. The Stone Gallery was outside and had the most amazing view of London. We then had to walk up another set of stairs upwards of 100—that were spiral no less—to get to the Golden Gallery.

It was all really fun! Then we came back and got some bangin’ bagels. Tomorrow starts the World Cup!
