Oi,Footy season started last weekend. Footy is what the call the Australian Football League here. Its basketball, soccer, rugby, and football combined into one action packed, time out limited game. There are commercials like once an hour, for 15 seconds, amazing. It's a good one to watch. Gotta get some tickets to a match soon.So we (my mates and I) went to church Monday night. We received a letter in the mail about free food, nothing can turn us away from free food. We ended up being a bit under dressed for the occasion, but it was good fun. We were the only people under 30 I would guess, but they were welcoming and very interested in talking to us. Good wine and enough finger foods to stuff the belly, and good conversation with some of the locals. The last week in June I'm heading to New Zealand for a week. A Kiwi friend of mine is organizing the trip, 4 days skiing and snowboarding some hiking, and a good possibility for bungee jumping, yeah, seriously. It isn't just any old mountain either, its huge. It's called the Whakapapa, I havn't been skiing in what seems 10 years, so these trails seem huge to me. Check them out here in PDF format.I've set a tradition. Every Thursday, i go into the city to see something different and interesting. Something other than my daily commute to the design campus. This week, i went to Camberwell, which seems to be a suburban shopping center. Nothing exciting but it's good to know that they DO have TARGET here.I just want to make a note, for your future reference. Every animal in Aussi is bred to kill humans. What? Koala's you say? They have vicious claws, sharp enough to cut titanium. Exaggeration, but still. Kangaroos are the national animal, except, unlike the endangered Bald Eagle, Australians are hired to kill kangaroos because they breed like rabbits and destroy valuable farm land. If you drive into one, it'll get up and run away, but your car won't be going anywhere.I'll leave you off with some images from the Bushfires that raged through Victoria. Not near me thankfully. Check em out
