Flew from Abu Dhabi to Heathrow Airport. What was I thinking? Im going to France.... It wasnt an ordinary trip to get away or relax from the humdrum of work life. I have to meet "the family" this time. I never really wanted to but Blue insisted I have to come for the summer in time for Sales in Paris. The sound of sales to me is like dessert after the main course. This is how Blue talks me out into facing my fear of meeting his family for the first time.
Arrived CDG Paris from Heathrow where I was by the way almost got lost in transit with the Terminals. It was my first time taking transit from Heathrow and I didnt know they have 2 Terminals 1-4..when you get off the bus..there is another set of Terminals 1-4..whew! I didnt know if I was just playing dumb or too confused why I have to fly all the way to see Blues family.
Once out of CDG - I could spot Blue from a distance, he doesnt like crowded places, so he stay away from the people crowding just outside the airport. For the first time I was concious of people around me. I didnt know whether I should run to him and just get lost in his arms or just wait for him to do the first move. ..
I have not seen Blue for 2 weeks as he went off way before me, I was hesitating to do this trip so I didnt want to go with him and I cant believe how much I have appreciated seeing him that day. The sun was shining outside when we walked out of the airport. However, there was an indication of rain. Blue told me that it rained when he was driving to the airport in the morning. So, he led me to the car and loaded up my suitcase. As soon as he got into the car, I felt my heart pounding as if there is no going back. I got really scared knowing that I am in Paris and anytime soon I will meet his family. It's not just scary but I was afraid they will not like me at all.
Blue could see the worries on my face and he told me to relax, he didnt mention about the family. He told me its to early to go home so, he took me to some places. It was difficult to find a parking in Paris, so we decided to park the car further away the Eiffel tower and we just went walking hand in hand towards the area. The summer breeze was really nice, however there were so many people. The funny thing was, a lot of Japanese walking around in groups, wearing hats and cameras tag on thier neck...hahaha...Blue showed me the place where Princess Diana had an accident, there were in fact lots of flowers on the post just before you get down the tunnel. We stayed at the park just past the Eiffel Tower, and stayed there till lunch time. I dont know about this place much, but indeed there is something about Paris that is so romantic... add the french frog accent ...thats gotta be it!
