Day seven, we have to wake up at 6am and get some breakfast, because we are heading to Cuenca and it’s about a four hour drive. We load up the bus and head out on the drive up the sites are amazing and you don’t have a choice but to stay awake, because the road is to bumpy to sleep and my ear hurt if I don’t pop them. We …

When our group got together and on the bus today I noticed that we didn’t have an instructor. It kind of freaked me out a little bit, but I ignored it and figured we would have someone that met us there. Turns out we didn’t and the first ten minuets at the school for mentally challenged kids was a little awkward. No one spoke English and we didn’t speak Spanish. …

This morning when I woke up I found the city completely alive. People going to work, school, and shopping. Its Monday so this is our first day I seeing Ecuador at its daily busiest. We went to a church and on the bus ride their I saw the poorest neighborhoods I’ve ever scene in person. It was so sad to see people that actually live like this, and made me …

Today we went on a walking tour visiting some sites and monuments that Guayaquil is proud of. We ended up at the river which was a little muddy, but still very pretty. The long park that goes along the river was really cool; it had a modern but historical look to it, very unusual. Our guide explained to us that the island across the river, has only forty people living …

Our six or so hour bus drive down to Miami was not the most comfortable thing I’ve ever experienced, and the claustrophobic five hour plane ride down to Guayaquil wasn’t anything I’ve experienced too much of. When we arrived in the airport, I immediately realized that I am a complete alien to the people in this country and this is going to be an interesting trip. When we got to …

Day six, Today we head over to Fundacion Justo y Necesario from what I hear this place has everyone up in arms, because it’s not like the other places that we are working at. My roommates say that it’s a nice day school in a very nice area and the kids aren’t in any type of hardship. We get on the bus and our supervisor- John tell us a little …

Friday 21st Again the drive back is questionable. I guess we were meant to stop and eat lunch along some river or stop at some lake at 12,000ft but neither of those things happened. Lunch was at a nice place and the food was good, so I was still happy with that. The drive back along the road was interesting. Definitly saw a couple of spots …

Thursday 20th Today all of us departed for Cuenca, another city up in the mountains. The bus ride there was questionable. It did have a lot of nice scenery along the way, but we didn’t stop anywhere where we could take some cool photos or anything like that. Supposedly we were to stop at some church and have lunch there, but instead we at lunch in front of a …

Wednesday 19th Last day of visiting places to help out. Its Fundacio Justo y Necesario today. From what we are told the kids of the maids to work at wealthy homes go here to school. Im not sure exactly why we went to this place because it was very nice. Nice neighborhood, nice building, and I don’t know whose it was but there was a BMW SUV …
