 The best spring break ever!

My spring break was amazing. I left Newcastle on Friday September 25 with Matt and Keithy for Parkes. Parkes is their hometown and we roadtripped the 7 hours in their van. We got to Keithy's house Friday night and I got to meet his parents and his mom made us dinner. It was just like being at home.

Saturday morning we went to Keithy's little brother's soccer game and then his family left for the Gold Coast. Monday, another friend from school came to Parkes and we went to see the Dish which broadcast the first landing on the moon. It was pretty cool.

Thursday October 1st, Keithy and I flew from Parkes to Sydney and Sydney to the Gold Coast where I meet a family from home. Matt is Australian but Laurie is from my hometown so she was very excited for me to stay with their family. They have four kids, Rachel (8), Keagan (6), Mia (6), and Sophia (4). It was quite a house full. While I stayed with Matt and Laurie, they took me to several different beachs and an Asian restaurant where they cooked all the food right in front of us. Sunday, we traveled the 4 hours to the Sunshine coast. On the way, we stopped in Brisbane to meet with Matt's brother and neices. In the Sunshine Coast, we stayed in cabins and just chilled Sunday night. Monday, the family went house hunting while I staying in town and did some shopping, layed on the beach, and went to Underwater World. Underwater world was the coolest place ever and I really enjoyed being by myself for a while and i felt like a little kid again.

Monday night, we headed back and i stayed with the family until Thursday morning when Laurie took me to meet up with Keithy and his family again. They were staying at a resort, The Mariner Shores, and I was able to stay with them for several more days. While I was there, we really didn't do much. We went to the beach every day and I tried surfing again which was an epic fail, and we went shopping a couple other days. His family was amazing and made me really miss home. His mom and dad were very nice and a lot like my parents and his two younger brothers were pretty cool. His parents left Friday morning for home so Keithy and I had to move to the hotel next door.

Friday nigth I had my first mexican meal since I have been in Australia. We found one just a couple minutes from the hotel and had such good food and drinks. The we headed to the Casino where we met up with one of our friends from Uni and one of his friends from home who happen to be in the Gold Coast too. It was a pretty fun night. Unfortunately, Keithy and I flew out Sat. morning for home and didn't get home until mid afternoon.

It was an amazing trip from out road trip out to Parkes, the week in Parkes getting to meet all Keithy's highschool friends, to staying with a family from home and getting to see the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
