The group met at 8am to head off to Chester for the day. Team Navajo, with the exception of Andrew and I, seemed to have some alarm clock trouble so we spent some time that morning banging on bedroom doors. Fortunately, we all made it to the bus in time and headed off to Chester.
When we first arrived in Chester we plastered American on our faces and walked into the nearest McDonalds for a quick breakfast. Then we headed over to the church and took an audio guided tour. The architecture was nothing short of breathtaking. At the end of the tour team Navajo struggled to find our oldest member, Andrew. He managed to wander around outside for a while and missed our group meeting. Luckily we found him, with the help of Lauren's dog calls, and made our way around the walls of Chester. We saw the recently excavated Roman amphitheatre and walked down to the river. The two crew junkies saw a local team and ran to investigate. Andrew, Jackie, Lauren, and I sat and laughed at how much Kevin and Michael live to row. It’s kind of entertaining and they are both extremely passionate about it. When it was time to meet the rest of the JU students we struggled to find the bell tower, most likely because we thought we were looking for a clock tower. Fortunately, Lucas came to find us.
We ended the day with a relaxing movie night. We moved Jackie’s bed into my room and all piled on. We decided to watch Across the Universe in preparation to Sunday’s trip to Liverpool, home of The Beatles. All in all it was a calm night to end an excited day in Chester.
