On Monday morning I rushed to class. Being the brilliant individual that I am, I set my alarm for 8:00pm instead of 8:00am, so I took the fastest shower ever and threw on clothes in an effort to not make a horrible fist impression and be late. Well, I made it on time but made a horrible first impression on my first quiz anyway. I went brain dead and even struggled with who my buddies were. The day didn’t get better anytime soon. After class Michael and I headed over to the international office to talk to Chris about our free weekend while the others had class with Professor H. We all really wanted to travel somewhere exciting for our long weekend and Chris was giving us some suggestions and helping us look up flights. Unfortunately, everything he showed us was super expensive and we went away pretty set on the fact that we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere because of the bank holiday. We were shot down again when we went to change our linens.  We arrived at 11:43 and it was closed, even though it said it was open until 11:45. At that point Michael and I we both really upset and were not looking forward to telling the others about the big let down. Then we went to the Rutherford Gardens and saw a beautiful old house shaped in an H. The day seemed to be looking up. The house and the gardens were full of history. Afterwards we sat and had tea with a few dozen old people. I found out that I really don’t like tea at all but the hot chocolate was amazing. When we got back Kevin talked to some of the British students and they gave us a few other websites to look at to try and  plan a weekend excursion. We found a really cheap flight but it we would have to leave on Thursday so we didn’t think it was an option. However, Michael sweet talked his was out of class and Dick and Professor H. were really cool about it. So our day seemed to be getting better and better. We had tickets for Barcelona and a hotel room. We spent the night in my room planning our trip. We all went to sleep so keyed up for Barcelona. : )
