I woke up to another beautiful morning here at Edge Hill College. One thing that I really don’t like is the shower. This morning, similar to the previous ones, I walked into a flooded bathroom, waded through the water, and climbed up into the shower. I will definitely not miss that when we leave Edge Hill, or at least Eleanor Rothbone.
To be completely honest, I’m actually really excited about both of my classes. I really enjoyed reading about Bloomsbury in London. Being informed and ready for the sites we will be seeing in London will defiantly help me appreciate them more. It will be amazing to be able to guide myself and know how to get around London and where to go without having to rely on someone, not that I will be going anywhere alone. Creative writing is also extremely intriguing. As a math major, I seldom get the opportunity to sit down and write. I forgot how much I enjoy it. Creative writing seems to me like the perfect class. I am able to share fun stories and, with help, develop them into exciting page turners. The more I elaborate on these journal entries and class writing assignments, the more I realize the freedom one has in written word. You begin to recall the day, its’ funny, boring, exciting, and dull moments and appreciate the ability to look back and recall these emotions.
After class Lauren, Michael, and I went back and back up our stuff for Barcelona. The other three Navajo members were no where to be found so we assumed we should go grab dinner. Unfortunately, there was a mix up with meeting times NS Lauren and I felt horrible about it. Once we got everything straightened out we headed off to Liverpool.
Once in Liverpool team Navajo headed to a local pub. We sat upstairs at the high tables with our luggage packed around us and watched the Manchester v. Chelsea soccer game. I was honestly expecting a much more rowdy crowd but it did become extremely nail biting when the game went into double over time, penalty kicks, and then sudden death penalty kicks. Fortunately, Manchester pulled out the win.
After the game we took a bus to the airport and began our long exhausting night. We originally sprawled out on a small carpet area outside of a closed café but unfortunately Michael made a new friend who had really bad gas and laid right next to him. So Jackie and Michael went searching for a new resting spot. Meanwhile, Lauren was teaching Andrew, Kevin, and I how to play Phase 10. Andrew was not having it and got very angry. He started questioning every single rule. Michael and Jackie came back and told us they found a small prayer room which looked like it had amazing property value as far as sleeping space goes. Lauren and I immediately jumped up to follow them while Andrew and Kevin decided to stay up all night playing Rummy. The night ended in a purple prayer room with our bags piled up around us as we crouched in the fetal position, freezing in Liverpool airport.
