So i just wrote a lot about my day today, but it got erased before i could publish it, but i will try my best to re-type it. Today i woke up and set up the christmas tree with some boys. after that, i took a couple to the music room and they typed some letters to the WSU students on my laptop. I will send those people who got letters them tonight sometime. I then went on the playfield some more with them. I spend a lot of time on the playfield with them, but ever second with them is worth it because my time here is limited and i have all the time in the world back home to do what i want to do when im not around the boys. AFter a little time on the playfield, i went to ask Sr. Mimi if i could go to the corner store and get some snacks for the nights when i am by myself. She said that it would not be a good idea to do that because it wouldnt be fair to the boys who didnt get to go and it would cause fights. So i went by myself, which Sr. Mimi said should be safe as long as it was during the day. It was the first time i have been outside of Bosco on my own in Jamaica. So i went and got some kool aid, crackers, and cookies (for a whopping $600!). I returned an hour later and went on the playfield again. Sr. Mimi called me to help with the boys' supper tonight. A man brought cake and ice cream for the boys and she wanted me to help dish it out. I could tell that she loves giving the boys treats. Every time i would short the boys on their scoops (not on purpose), she would take her spoon and give them just a likkle bit more. It was awesome to do that, especially since i missed the birthday party this year, and giving out the ice cream was always my job. AFter that i went to the convent to have some dinner. Again, Sr. Mimi kept offering me Red Stripe. I just think that is the greatest thing...a nun offering unlimited Red Stripe. That was basically it for my day today. Tomorrow, i plan to spend some time in the butcher shop. Sr. Mimi said she would take me into Mandeville so i can get some coffee for people back home and change my money. She has a meeting to go to, so she will drop me off at the bank and i wil have to take a taxi back to bosco. I know my way around Mandeville though, so it won't be too bad. One of my goals is to be more independent here in Jamaica. I want to feel like i am living here, not just visiting, and for the most part, i do feel like i live here. Well, until next time.
