I will start this note off from last night. I almost didn't make it to Midnight Mass. After having a great time with the boys and Santa, I came back to my house and took a little nap before going to Mass. I set my alarm to wake up right before i was supposed to leave, but apparently it didnt go off. The next thing i remember was Sr. Mimi honking the horn to the van, which was piled full of Bosco Boys who were going to Mass. She sent one of the boys to knock on the door to wake me up. I hadn't yet gotten dressed for Mass, but it was too late. I just went in the clothes i had on me. That is alright though, i guess going at all is better than not at all. We all sat through Mass and then we went to the little area outside of the Church afterwards for a reception. Sr. Mimi carefully rationed out enough food and refreshments for all the boys that were there. It was about 2:00am by the time i got back to the house. After my awesome experience yesterday at Grand Market, I started to question whether Junior really meant to have a good time or whether he was trying to take advantage of me. I should know better, and i think i do, but one of the boys at the reception asked me if I thought Junior was conning me. I told him that i didnt think that Junior was because he never once asked me for money or for me to buy him anything. I gave him a toy that i brought down with me for Christmas last night. He told me that he appreciated me getting it, but that he didn't play with toys anymore. All he wants is a radio. Maybe since he has won my heart this year, i will find time to go into town, and among other things, get him a radio. I was reassurred about my questioning the reality of my time with Junior yesterday when i went up to school today. He was just fininshing helping to serve the boys breakfast. He saw me and made it a point to ask me if i had fun yesterday. I said that i did, and I asked him the same, and he said yes too. I wrote him a page-long letter this morning and gave it to him as well. I'm not one to write letters to the boys because there are just too many of them and it is hard to write them letters to their reading level, but i thought Junior was an exception. I spent the morning on the playfield with the boys, and then Sr. Mimi and Pam came and we gave the boys candy and bubble gum. After that, we went back up to the convent to open presents. I got Sr. Mimi and Susan each a framed picture of us at Christmas last year. And then for the both of them together, i brought a frame for an 8x10 of a photo montage i made of the boys. It is posted on my facebook profile. They both really liked that because it really tells a lot about my experiences i have had here and each and every boy who's life i have touched. After presents, it was time for dinner with the boys. That is a special time too, and i hate to keep the suspense up, but I wanted to get this first part out before i forgot it all...I will continue my post tonight after the boys go to bed.
