Whatever happens that I think is noteworthy, though when things go well I tend to enjoy them and not write about them, so expect mostly whingeing.

 This is not a callout.

Well, I've decided to start using one of these shake & bake blog sites because, frankly, I'm crap at doing it myself. The whole email thing turned into a debacle, and there was no way to upload photos in a nice, decent, let's-not-spam-the-crap-out-of-everybody's-email way. That is in no way intended to suggest that I have current/interesting photos to upload, its more what I like to think of as a "convenient excuse" to do what I should have done in the first place. So, now that I've been to Scandinavia and returned merely deeply emotionally and financially scarred, I can finally update everybody far more frequently on the highly interesting and amusing nothing which I have planned for the next few months.

Be sure to check back soon for these forthcoming installments: "Mark Buys Some Milk" and the special double-length entry "Shafted Again: Mark Pays Too Much for Something".

Until then enjoy some belated photos from the past few months (chronologimal order) and what could be less boring than some statistics about my travels to date:

Days since leaving Sydney: 71
Number of times heard Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit on radio: 4
Number of times heard John Farnham's You're the Voice on radio: 2 (!)
Number of times been asked if we have TV in Australia: 2 (though one was a joke)
Worst meal: Some shit I made in Norway
Kms driven in a Porsche: 7076
Roadkillcount: 0 (but seen a few)
Average frequency of rude/unhelpful customer service people: HK-0, Denmark-0.5, Norway-0.6, Sweden-0.1, Germany-0.9999999998
Times entertained family members with impersonation of Johnny Cash sining Blink182's Dammit: 2
Highest Wanted level: 2 stars (until they realised I wasn't the guy they wanted)
Criminal rating: very poor
Report inappropriate journal entry

Tips

  • expect the unexpected: sweden has a high suicide rate and great customer service, while reasonably content germans act like you stole their sauerkraut.
  • be nice to the muscular cyborg swedish cops and the'll be nice to you
